Warning. This is an unabashed commercial.
After 23 years of running the Creative Alliance, surviving stage four cancer and getting past a variety of other obstacles, you can’t help realize that helping others is more rewarding than chasing the buck.
Monday morning, my president and creative director, David and I were up early. We were meeting with a couple young entrepreneurs to help them build their business. Mornings are perfect for this kind of work, and we were at our best. Halfway through the four-hour strategy session, one of our new friends stopped to make a point.
“It’s amazing what we’ve done in just a couple hours. I’m blown away.”
I asked him what he expected, and he went on. “We hired (name of group) and they gave us a bunch of words and some designs that didn’t help us at all. Then we googled ‘marketing consultants colorado’ and found you guys. We’re so happy we didn’t go to another agency.”
David and I looked at each other.
We told them ad agencies, design firms and digital/social media groups don’t specialize in business-to-business strategic marketing—so people who need this expertise often don’t know who or what to look for. “But you’re not just consultants. You also do the implementation, right?”
“That’s right,” I said, nodding again to David. “Over the years we’ve started other businesses of our own. We know exactly what you are going through, as we are entrepreneurs, too. We are really just business people who are creative. But we have also learned to apply sound strategy over the years. When done right, this combination always impacts the bottom line and achieves results.”
After the session, the clients walked out on a cloud, buzzing about the possibilities and what just happened.
“What exactly are we? A creative, marketing strategy firm that does world-class design, writing, implementation that builds entrepreneurial businesses?” That’s a mouthful. Maybe we’ll just stay with
The Creative Alliance.
And along the way, we’ll help many business people reach their dreams.
That’s a great feeling.
